Dear Rhodesfield Community
I trust that each and everyone is well under these trying and uncertain times. We are a family and I want to give you the assurance that we - educators, parents and learners - will stand together and by each other's side no matter what.
We are in unfamiliar territory and will experience a very unusual year. The school has no choice but to adhere to the law and policies of the county and Education Department. Your health and safety will always be important to Rhodesfield School of Specialisation.
May God bless you abundantly in these difficult times.
Kind regards
Me. A.J. Ras
Every learning area has its own Annual Teaching Plan (ATP). Educators need to follow this plan without deviation. The whole content prescribed by the ATP for the first term, in all learning areas, has been completed.
The Department of Basic Education will be prescriptive as far as school terms, content and time spend on teaching, where content is concerned (ATP for the remainder of this year). No dates are available yet and we don't want to make decisions based on speculations.
Learning takes place when content is explained, the learner understands it and the learner re-visit/practice the work regularly. The aim of this website is to encourage learners to re-visit/practice work done in the first term. It is also to accommodate other initiatives taken by educators to assist learners during this time.
There is no need for concern for learners who don't have access to the internet. I recommend that they draw up a time-table to revise work already done. They must also keep in contact with their peers and educators on other social platforms (WhatsApp groups) to keep on top of their academic work.
This will be determined by the President and the Department of Basic Education. Please be weary of false messages that are placed on social media every day. This date will be confirmed by the school when it has been communicated to us through a credible source.
Rhodesfield Technical High School is a fee-paying school. Our school has inevitable expenses every day. Regulations for exemptions, as prescribed by the South African's School's Act will be adhered to 100% by the school and Governing Body. Exemptions will only be made to those people who qualify to the set criteria of the law. If any changes are made by Government we will comply. We therefore urge our parents to comply and pay school fees diligently.
